We set out into the Mont Blanc massif after some good recent snowfall, in search of some fresh tracks a little further from the crowds. The Col du Tacul is a 900m high ski tour reached from the Salle a Manger basin of the Vallee Blanche. On reaching the col there are two options, ski back down the col towards the Vallee Blanche, or traverse the col and ski the Capucin couloir and complete the traverse. We opted to ski the Capucin couloir, graded 5.1, which required a few rappels to navigate the rocky entrance.
Another great day in the mountains!
