Ice Climb Norway
The Breaking Trail Series: #1
Introducing the first trip in our new 'Breaking Trail Series', exclusive to anyone whose adventured with us before or who has booked to do so. We will only run a few of these tips a year, each one different and only if the right type of adventure presents itself. Olly, Kenton and the guides have been talking about trips like this for a few years now but finally we're here.
We're offering a select few the chance to experience a new adventure on this once in a life time trip. We're heading off to Norway to tackle some of the worlds best ice climbs. Norway, and specifically Rjukan, is so densely packed with ice falls you will be spoilt for choice. You'll understand why they call it the ice climbing capital of Europe. We're so convinced you'll love it we're even throwing in two top of the range ice axes to keep.
Oh, and the best thing about it, you don't need any mountaineering experience to enjoy it. Who's up for an ice climbing adventure?

ADVENTURE WITH GREAT PEOPLE IN A WILD ENVIRONMENT!
We've built this trip for two reasons. The first, it's something we would love to do ourselves, so we figured you would as well. The second is to say thanks to anyone whose supported us over the years. This trip is only available to those who have adventured with us before or have a trip coming up in the future. As part of the 'Breaking Trail Series' this trip is exclusive and therefore likely to be oversubscribed. Fear not, as we will provide more information and let you know when bookings are open in the future.
We're also fully aware that people are a little worried about the likelihood that this trip will take place given the current travel restrictions. The booking will be completely refundable and we'll make a call by the 30th of January as to whether this trip will go ahead.

WHO IS THIS FOR?
Trail breakers, that's who!
Anyone with a heightened sense of adventure who's idea of a successful trip is being active with great people, in great environments. With a 2:1 ratio of our best guides not only will you get great access to the activities, you will also spend a lot of time getting to know these amazing and fascinating people and learning valuable skills.
While you don't have to be a sub 3 hour marathon runner you do need to come with a good base level of fitness. It would also help if you worked on a little bit of upper body strength as well... it might come in handy. If you're worried about being ready for this trip then just let us know and we'll talk you through the preparation required.

Adventure Overview

ICE CLIMBING, ICE FISHING, ICE CREAM...
Welcome to the wonderful world of ice! While this trip is all about the ice climbing there's actually a lot more to it. You, the guides and some of the Adventure Base team will all be staying in the same accommodation getting to know one another and sharing stories. Rjukan is a little village full of beautifully coloured cabins. These are copies of the first worker's homes built in line with the industrial movement at the beginning of the 1900's. Don't worry, they have moved on from the 1900's and now come with internet, which we're not sure is a good or bad thing! It also provides a fantastic setting for other winter adventures like ice fishing and cross country skiing. While we're predominantly there for the ice climbing there will be opportunity to experience some other winter adventures. This isn't your every day adventure and has been designed with the people in mind as much as the environment. We want it to be special and personal and we will build in time to do just that.
