SILVRETTA SKI TOUR
The Silvretta Ski Tour is one of the most accessible and enjoyable hut-to-hut ski tours in the Alps. Nestled on the border of Austria and Switzerland, this trip takes you through the heart of the Silvretta range — known for its wide glaciers, scenic peaks, and charming alpine huts.
Perfect for those new to multi-day ski touring or looking for a more relaxed alpine experience, the Silvretta offers steady climbs, fun descents, and breathtaking views without the high-consequence terrain found in more extreme areas. Each day you'll skin up through beautiful valleys and over gentle cols, then ski down into remote basins or cozy mountain huts where a warm meal and a comfortable bed await.
Expect around 4–6 hours of movement each day, with plenty of time to take in the scenery, learn new skills, and enjoy the rhythm of life in the high mountains. Whether it’s your first ski tour or you’re building confidence for bigger adventures, the Silvretta is the ideal starting point.
Level: Intermediate
Best for: First-time multi-day ski tourers with solid off-piste skills.
Terrain: Moderate glaciers, broad valleys, scenic cols.
Technical: Some glacier travel, but minimal technical climbing.
Why it’s great: Super accessible but still a full mountain experience. Excellent for building confidence on a longer tour.

WHO IS THIS FOR?
This trip is ideal for intermediate ski tourers looking to build confidence and develop their skills. You’ll need a good level of fitness — expect around 4 to 6 hours of movement each day, including steady uphill climbs at a moderate pace. There will be regular breaks and we won’t be racing to the top, but you should be comfortable being on the move for most of the day, carrying a backpack.
You should be confident and in control in off-piste terrain, in all kinds of snow — whether it's powder, crust, windblown, or spring slush. We're not expecting pro-level freeriders, but you should be able to link turns confidently and stay in control in unpredictable snow conditions, even when you're tired.
Previous ski touring experience is expected — for example, at a minimum our Intermediate Hut Ski Tour or multiple day tours. You should be familiar with how to use touring equipment like skins, touring bindings and be able to kick turn.
If you're a confident off-piste skier but have never ski toured before then you can jump on to one of of our intro to ski touring courses (Learn more here ).
If you're still not sure whether you're ready, no sweat! Get in touch and we'll be happy to talk it through with you. Not sure whether you're ready to tackle the Silvretta Ski Tour? No problem, take our Silvretta Ski Tour 'Readiness' test.

"A really knowledgable team and a great set of people to spend a lot of time with as well. I’d definitely use them again on our next trip to the Alps."
"Fantastic tour, Olly organised the trip excellently and Federico (the guide) was magnificent. A great week!"
Adventure Base delivered the most incredible adventure for my 40th with a group of my close friends. Although it was harder than we expected we all pulled through and I can't thank your team enough for making this such a great trip.
Haute route was a bucket list for me - skied for years but never did much ski touring and always wanted to ski past the Matterhorn! Thanks AB for delivering.

Day 1:
Arrival Day in Innsbruck
We highly recommend planning your inbound travel so that you arrive in Innsbruck by early afternoon. This is especially important if you need to rent ski touring equipment from our local rental shop supplier. You’ll need time to collect any rental equipment before the evening briefing, which is essential for a smooth start to your adventure. There is limited time the following morning to rent items as you will be departing for the mountains straight after breakfast.
You will meet with your guide for a briefing in the evening at approximately 18:00 to go through the plan for the week as well as the current weather and mountain conditions. Here you will have a chance to go through your kit under the experienced eye of your guide and can ask any questions that you may have. Dinner will follow and then it's time for a good night sleep! -
Day 2:
Ischgl to Heidelberger Hut
Transport to Ischgl (1hr15mins) take the lift system and descend to the Heidelberger hut, which is located just across the border in Switzerland. Day 4:
Climb Briete Krone (3079m)
Today we say goodbye to the Heidelberger Hut and make our way onwards back across the border to Austria with a climb over the Kronenjoch pass. If conditions are good we will also bag a nearby peak such as Breite Krone (3079m) followed by a descent to the Jamtal Hut for the night.
800m ascent, 900m descent (5-6hrs) -
Day 5:
Day Tour from Jamtal Hut
Day tour from the Jamtal Hut to one of the accessible nearby peaks. Here we have plenty of options depending on conditions and the motivation of the group, such as Hintere Jamspitze (3153m) or Gamsspitze (3107m) and return to Jamtal Hut for our second night at this charming hut.
1100m ascent, 1100m descent (6-7hrs) -

He combines mountain guiding with helicopter rescue work in Spain during the off seasons.

Fede
IFMGA Guide
"My favorite mountain is the Midi d’Ossau, in the Pyrenees. It is a volcanic and unique mountain, that a stands out from the other peaks around. It is a huge fortress with many different features that provides incredible rock climbing routes, and the most important thing is that is 20 minutes from my house ;)"

Roger
IFMGA Guide
Roger has spent over 15 years guiding around the world. He is a Guide instructor at the Spanish School of Guides and is fascinated by discovering mountains with clients. Roger has a big passion about showing people his beloved mountains and sharing climbs and descents with skis.

Jon
IFMGA Guide
"If asked about my favourite mountain or mountain range, it wouldn't be easy to answer since perfect places to climb, ski or explore can be found all over the world. But, if I had to choose one, I think I'd say the Pyrenees, not very high, but wild and still quite unknown: the mountains where I learnt when I was a child and where I can still live great adventures far from the crowd".
