Trekking through stunning alpine landscapes is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, but carrying everything on your back can be demanding. With our convenient luggage transfer service, you can hike freely, carrying only a daypack while your overnight backpack is transported to your next accommodation. Here’s how it works and what you need to know to make the most of it.
How Luggage Transfers Work
With our luggage transfer service, your main bag essentially “follows” you along the route. Each morning that luggage transfer is available, your duffle backpack is collected from the hotel or refuge where you stayed the night and delivered to your next accommodation, typically before 6 pm. This service allows you to hike comfortably with just your essentials – like water, snacks, and a jacket – in your daypack.
However, some remote refuges along the route don’t have vehicle access, so your luggage will bypass these stops and meet you at the next accessible location.
Key Details
- Luggage tags are not required, but we recommend attaching one to each bag with the lead booker’s name and “Adventure Base” for easy identification.
- This service is designed to move your trekking luggage between stops.
- If you are bringing extra travel luggage or a large suitcase, you may wish to arrange a transfer from your pre-trip accommodation to your post-trip accommodation.
- Luggage is normally collected from your accommodation in the morning and delivered to your next stop later the same day.
- On these routes, availability is limited and prices are higher. The form below will show you options and prices.
Booking and Payment
- Luggage transfers can only be added once your accommodations have been confirmed.
- This usually happens several months before departure – please request as soon as you receive your final itinerary (and before your final balance is paid).
- All luggage transfers are non-refundable once booked.
Why Book Through Us?
- We coordinate directly with your accommodation providers so there’s no extra admin for you.
- You’ll have the flexibility to trek light and enjoy the route without carrying all your gear.
If you’d like to book luggage transfers for your trek, please fill out the form below once you have your final itinerary.
