Sale / Business Development Manager

When you combine the two, it makes something extraordinary. As we look to expand our operations into the Central and Western Alps, we aim to collaborate with local operators to enhance our offerings. Despite being a small team of six, we are growing quickly and offer a dynamic, hands-on work environment.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Sales Manager / Business Development Manager to join our team. This individual will be responsible for managing the sales team, evolving our sales strategies, and creating strategic partnerships to drive business growth. The successful candidate must be comfortable working independently and taking initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Sales Team: Supervise and support the sales team, which currently includes one other member, ensuring targets are met and exceeded.
  • Answer Enquiries: Handle customer enquiries promptly and professionally, providing detailed information and converting leads into sales.
  • Evolve the B2C Sales Strategy: Develop and implement innovative business-to-consumer sales strategies to increase market share and revenue.
  • Develop the B2B Sales Strategy: Identify and pursue business-to-business opportunities, establishing relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, and other relevant partners.
  • Create Partnerships: Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with local operators, accommodation providers, and other relevant businesses to enhance our service offerings and expand our market reach.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: You’ll need both of these as we charter new waters and try new initiatives. Things change fast at Adventure Base so it’s important you know what you’re stepping in to.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strategic mindset with the ability to identify growth opportunities and develop effective sales strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in sales and business development, preferably in the travel or adventure tourism industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a small team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies.
  • Experience in creating and nurturing business partnerships.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with the Central and Western Alps region is a plus.

Requirements:

  • Must be willing to relocate to the South West of England and work from our base in North Devon (Flexible options).
  • Flexible to travel as needed to meet with partners and clients.
