WHO IS THIS FOR?
The Tour du Mont Blanc Trek is well suited to fit hillwalkers, capable of trekking for multiple days carrying a midsized rucksack. We follow footpaths each day and the terrain is very hilly so expect big climbs and descents each day. We stay in a mixture of mountain refuges and local hotels during the trek, which all provide basic but comfortable lodging and good food. This helps keep our packs light carrying only snacks, clothing and essentials.

ITALY, SWITZERLAND & FRANCE
The ‘Haute Route’ was first pioneered in 1861 by the British Alpine Club. It was first completed on foot but in 1911 was successfully completed on skis by a local Dr from Chamonix called Michel Payot. Having completed the route on foot before, he and a team of guides (Joseph Couttet, Alfred Simond and Joseph Ravanel) embarked on the challenge. Back then equipment wasn’t as high tech as it is now, so long wooden skis and some basic leather boots were about as high tech as it got.
Depending on which trip you choose the route crosses three borders (France, Italy and Switzerland), traversing beneath huge glaciers, and meandering through beautiful alpine meadows and picture-book villages. That's right, this is a truly memorable journey and one of worlds classic long-distance hiking routes.
